How good of you!

As you explore this character sheet, you will notice that this disease is, in fact, very much designed to cause calamity in some fashion to all walks of life, unlife, and supernatural entity. This is a broad spectrum infection that is intended to give outside characters something to actually concern about. Very much akin to the real world. It is not required that players participate in this plague, however it would very much be appreciated and entertaining! The character that is serving as the vector in this had already been destroyed (by moi, I authorized said destruction) and is being returned to the world as a reminder of mortality to all from whatever deity you'd like to blame for pestilence.
You will also notice that there is A L O T of information about this virus, the transmission, and the cure. There is a lot to take in and if you are not sure it applies to your character, by all means let me know. The point of this design is not to kill characters, so please don't look at this as the end plague. This is to make designs complicated, or risky. If at any point during the infection, should you choose to allow it, you do not want to have your character infected any more - you are not forced to implore with me for its cure. If you allow infection and would like to undo it, you are absolutely entitled to do so by whatever explanation you care to apply. This should not be treated like vampirism, werewolfism, or permanent like death. It is a virus, infection, and complication of ones biology - it is not a total DNA make over for your character. If you do not like the cure options in any way, you are allowed your creativity. However - here is where it ends - You and only you may use your unique cure for your own personal character. This means that you are not permitted to use your own vaccinations or cures for other players - not even if they ask. Oh noooooo! This makes me controlling! Which is hardly the case. As I said earlier; this is to complicate the lives of others! Please allow each individual player/character come up with their own means of eradication if they are opting away from the normal means of vaccination.

Mutation of the "lyssavirus" - just a fancy word for encompassing the rabies virus across a multitude of species.

" Lytta Raberia " (Rabies Rabies) is a mutated and demonically born virus that is transmissible via saliva - at the current standing. This is as much complex in make up as it is in its mutations, varying in how it attaches itself to the properties of blood and bodily fluids. Unusually adaptable to environment, it has a decided preference for warm blooded creatures with the affinity towards entities that are generally alive. Reptile or cold blooded life normally takes a little longer for the gestation to take place, effectively slowing symptoms and delaying its life cycle. Plant life is a dead end to the virus, as there is no circulation for it to effectively spread into; this does not mean that they are equally safe. It is uniquely made up to contain various virions (virus cells) linked together in a type of clear mucus like matter. The virus it self capable of altering and mutating to wreak havoc. It can survive outside the body for a determined twenty four hour period, however it loses its effectiveness after the first six, and continues to deteriorate to prolonged exposure. Heating and freezing the virions do not alter or change its effectiveness, however heating it did reveal agitation and excitement. It is likely to thrive in warmer climates and environments; becoming slower, but not dormant to being frozen. Time for symptoms to present will depend entirely on the location, severity, and viral load of bite; active symptoms can start between a forty-eight hours to a solid thirty five days before a victim experiences complications. Please do not wait for treatment!

This is an ever changing disease. As it progresses and grows, there will be varying effects per victim. This is because it is very much alive in the bitch. What it may do to one, it may not affect the next the same exact way.

This is a continued Work in Progress! Check on back for changes!

History of the Vector;

During the time of mortal life, the vector fell to grievous inherited disability resulting in extermination. Ultimately, this was done for the sake of mercy as the deformity would have resulted in suffering and death anyway. The treating physician at the time had been called medicus Stephani Goodman under order of the establishment and employer. The vector remained under extensive medical care for many weeks, resulting inability to preserve it. By request of the owning establishment, medicus signed final documents that would permit euthanasia. The said medicus keeps all records of this treatment and testing. As a result, samples of blood, tissue, bone and so on remains with this one. Aware of the virus that plagued the vector, idle hands fashioned a vaccine for this viral infection gone awry. Tweaking and additional building on this treatment may very well be needed to keep up with the mutations.

𝕍𝕒𝕔𝕔𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤

Vaccine Study;

There are Two available serums for this vaccines; one is inactive while the other is a toxoid-live combination. Depending on the severity of the infection will determine the course of treatment. The inactive vaccine is typically given to those that have already contracted the virus in some manner or another.  The immune system is already under attack and struggling to survive; this measure of vaccination treatment allows the body to respond to something identical but unresponsive during elimination. This treatment is aggressive, taking several doses for the maximum of four days before being added to by a toxoid-live vaccine if needed.

Continuing on this; healthy patients will receive the toxoid-live vaccination for a boosted and more aggressive response to the infection. This is a weakened virion that is paired with the poisoned bacteria involved in with the infection of other entities. This does not ensure that any DNA (or species) alteration will carry the same properties to keep the patient vaccinated. This only ensures that the healthy patient will not suffer infection should they fall to a lytta victim bite.

Diagnoses;

Relatively quickly done, the site of infection will tingle and typically the surrounding tissue will begin to go numb if not properly cleaned. Fever will present fairly aggressively, as well. Though the most telling symptom will be the wound itself - assuming there is one. Lytta Raberia infected wounds will have a very distinct white membrane like layer, it can be cleaned off but doing so won't really keep it off. This is not threatening and is only the viral reaction to open air. Covering it will moisten the wound and allow growth, the film like layer will bubble with the additional moisture. During treatment, this telling layer will become more and more translucent, signal that cure is taking hold.

Treatment;

This is given several times over the course of treatment, differently from the base virus that is a set schedule to vaccination. This is a far more aggressive virus requiring equally aggressive treatment.  The syringe is a metal tube and needle not forged of silver; but of steel to avoid allergy.

Side Effects;

As with all medicine, there are bound to be side effects. Everyone is different, not all entities will respond the same to the vaccine. Generally, side effects will present hours after injection. Lasting anywhere between twenty-four hours to seventy-two hours. (This is play-by-player choice.
-- Common; Soreness, itching, fever.
-- Mild; Redness, swelling, headache, and muscle ache.
-- Moderate; Abdominal pain, dizziness, nausea.
-- Seek Medicus; Bloody vomit, hallucinations, fever after a week.
